Sara Sequeira receives award from the Portuguese Society of Ceramics and Glass.

Sara SequeiraSara Sequeira, former Masters student of Materials and Biomedical Devices at Aveiro University, was awarded the Faria Frasco 2015 Prize by the Portuguese Ceramic and Glass Society (SPCV). The Award Ceremony took place on the 30th April at the Department of Materials and Ceramic Engineering (Aveiro Academy - DEMaC). Sara Sequeira, winner of the Faria Frasco Prize 2015, received 2000 Euros. 

She competed for the 2015 edition prize with her Master’s Thesis entitled “Development of Zirconia Composites for Orthopedic Implants” as a result of her collaboration with Portuguese company, Innovnano-Materiais Avançados, SA. 

The purpose of the Faria Frasco Prize (*) is to inspire young investigators with original projects, in the area of Ceramic and Glass. This Award recognises inedited works, developed in the national territory, with technological or scientific character, whose promising application has not been rewarded in any other contest. 

Announcement of the 2016 edition is expected in June.
